Chourbagi Moderne for Clothing and Textiles s.a.e. is an Egyptian company established in 1977. It started its journey by being Egypt’s first hosiery manufacturer with the brand name ‘Charmaine’. By 1981 the company grew and integrated knitting machines to manufacture cotton undergarments for the local market.

By 1985  ‘Charmaine’ was a local household brand-name catering to the whole family, with a product range offering undergarments and sleepwear for men, women and children in addition to ladies hosiery.

With the brand having the largest market share locally, 1988 saw the beginning of the ‘Charmaine’ stores which currently now stand at 20 retail outlets across Egypt.

Chourbagi continuously looks for different ways to expand and grow whilst maintaining the level of quality and efficiency it promises all its clients. In 1989 the in-house dyeing department was initiated, allowing the company to function as a vertically integrated unit. With the production line starting at knitting and going through dyeing, finishing, cutting, sewing and finally packaging.

In the same year the first export order was shipped, and since then the orders have increased exponentially each quarter, confirming Chourbagi’s commitment to high quality standards and on-time delivery.

In addition the company understands the demands of this fast-changing apparel industry, in return established an in-house research and development team who perpetually develop new techniques and fabrics using new trend fibres.

Production capacity is continuously growing through the introduction of new machinery and the constant aim to increase efficiency. Capacity currently stands at 1.5 million pieces a month, with a sales ratio of 95% export-oriented and 5% local-oriented.

Our export sales are directed to various brands in Europe and the USA such as Hugo Boss, Calvin Klien, Marks & Spencers, Debenhams and Hema, who we have been able to maintain a long-standing partnership for over 15 years.
